Living in New York City,  I teach history at Adelphi University and focus my energy on strengthening the local community through scholarship and the arts.
   
On weekends I play Brazilian music – choro, samba, and MPB – in local art galleries and cafes. I am also engaged in designing a series of tools to help students and young artists earn a healthy living even as they push for making structural change.
